Lord of the Rings

Postby lachie » Tue Jun 01, 2010 11:21 pm

Okk, just picked my ancient "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King- Strategy Battle Game" book and had a look through. Ive been inspired.

Now I've been out of LOTR for a LONG time. Does anyone still play the Strategy Battle Game, or is everything War of the Ring now?

What armies are people playing atm? I know of Aharon and Wayne S who are trying to get War of the Ring up and running, as well as a few others.

Im tempted to do a Minith Tirrith Army with Dol Amroth support. But I also like Wood Elves, but dislike their plastic models (metals are great but wayy to expensive. Do they even sell them anymore?).

Thanks guys
"A friend of death, a brother of luck and a son of a *censor*," Major Rawne, of his commander.

I have played a few games of the skirmish version and enjoy it, think the game works well.

I have a range of Uruk and Orcs plus so many goblins it is frightening....

I havent tried the War of the Rings game, and dont plan to in a hurry. You need so many more minatures to play that, and like I said, i enjoy the idea of the skirmish, where each model can run independently.

Happy to have a game some time, will be rusty, but Im sure it will be like riding a bike...CRASH!
